Asterix is a French comic book hero created by Goscinny and Uderzo in the late 1950's. Asterix is a Gaul, a Celt who lives in what is now France during the time of Julius Ceaser (c.50 BC). He, along with his sidekick, Obelix protect thier village from Roman invaders and have many other adventures as well.
